Your footprint and B Corp
Under the current standards, Environmental Stewardship forms 1 of 5 'Impact Areas' that B Corps are scored against in the Impact Assessment. You'll be asked whether your business monitors greenhouse gas emissions, and what targets and policies you've put in place to reduce and offset your footprint.
For many B Corps, the environment is identified as a key area for improvement.
New Standards - getting prepared for 2026
From next year, the way B Corp's manage carbon is changing:
- Now: Measuring & offsetting = Voluntary
- From 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲: Measuring & reduction plan = 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆
Under the new Climate Action topic, you'll need to measure a full scope footprint, set a science-based Net Zero target, and build a Climate Transition Plan.
